How do I signup to a band's list?
You can become a member of a bands fan list by either signing up through the bands signup form (on their website, myspace, etc.) or by visiting the bands FanBridge subdomain which typically is the following format, http://bandname.fanbridge.com
Also, bands can sign you up from their account. So if you have given them your information offline, they can enter it in.
How do I update my information?
To access your account for updates, you must follow the link posted at the bottom of all emails that you receive from your band. Note, it is always a good idea to keep the verification email that is sent once you signup for a band, because you can always update your information by following the link at the bottom of this email which reads, "Update Account."
Is my information sold to any third parties?
NO, FanBridge does not sell any personally identifiable information on either bands or fans to third parties, period. Sometimes FanBridge may collect general aggregate information for the purpose of improving the site. Please read the Privacy Policy for further information.
What should I do if I received SPAM from a FanBridge user?
First, we would like to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and would like to apologize for this happening. FanBridge does not condone spamming, and goes through extensive efforts to thwart this unethical activity. Please immediately unsubscribe from their emailing list, and let us know who sent you this SPAM message. You can do this by emailing us the senders info (along with a copy of the message sent, if possible) to: Abuse@FanBridge.com
How do I unsubscribe from a band's list?
If you wish to unsubscribe from a bands list, either select the "Unsubscribe" button at the bottom of any email you have received from that band, or visit http://www.fanbridge.com/fans.php to unsubscribe yourself.
Why should I give a band more info than just my email address?
Though you are not required to give any more information about yourself other than your email address, providing additional information to bands helps them to better understand their fans tailor their emails to you more effectively. Ultimately, this information helps bands to understand and communicate with their fans. Note, your information is never sold to any third parties and remains the property of the band.
When should I check whether to 'receive all email'?
You should select this option during signup if you wish to receive emails from the band that have been targeted to an area outside of your own. Sometimes bands will target their emails to specific geographic areas that are most relevant to the purpose of that emailing campaign (i.e. if they are doing a gig in San Francisco and want to send a reminder to Bay Area residents)
If the band decides not to target their email then their entire list will be emailed, otherwise only fans within the targeted range and those who have chosen to 'receive all' will receive an email for targeted email campaigns.
What are these browser toolbars I heard about?
Custom toolbars are web browser toolbars branded with your name, and they include a Google search box, a link to your homepage, a link to your music store, and a link to your tourdates. They also include other cool gadgets such as a weather checker and web radio.
